If you have some material suitbable for a bingo game in a wordprocessing or spreadsheet program, or any software program that can create a text file (.txt), then you can import it Schoolhouse Bingo if you format it correctly. Prepare the text-only file (.txt) from the spreadsheet or word-processing program you are using. (Consult that program's Help for creating a text-only file.)

In order to import the .txt (text) file into the Schoolhouse Bingo program a delimiter must appear between each section of data. The text file must have this format:

answer|question
answer|question
etc

Between the answer and question is the pipe symbol. On most standard American keyboards the pipe character is located above the back slash (\) character. Shift-\ will create the pipe. There is also a hard return at the end of the question, so each set of answer|question is on a separate line.

Here is an example of what the information should look like in the text document:

cat|What is an animal that likes to chase mice?
dog|This animal likes to chase cats.
mouse|The ______ ate the cheese, so the cat chased it.
yellow|What color is the sun?
Once the text file (.txt) is set up in the correct format, open the Schoolhouse Bingo program and select the Custom bingo from the Activities panel. When the Custom bingo activity opens, access the Content Editor window by clicking on the Edit Content button.

- When the Content Editor window appears, click on Import. An Open window appears. Locate your exported word lists and select a word list to import. Click Open.
- The word list data is automatically inserted into the Question and Answer cells.
- More than one word list can be used for a bingo activity. Continue to use the Import command until you have imported all of the word lists you want for the bingo activity.
- Finally, click OK to add the data to the bingo cards and call sheets.

NOTE: The data entered is only saved when the bingo activity cards and call sheets are saved. If you want to create other bingo activities with this data in the future, you must save the bingo cards and call sheets.
